Roundabout Appreciator

I've decided to become a roundabout appreciator.  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjGKk7bee_M) (If you watch the video you'll see it's the Dull Men's Society.  But there are some women also.  Personally I don't think they are particulary dull.  In fact I laughed so much when I first saw this.  Love The Lord of the Rings.!)  So far I have 2 roundabouts in my collection.  The first, above, was taken a block away from our B and B in Lincoln City on our anniversary trip. September of 2017.
The second, below, taken a few minutes later.  I don't know if it qualifies as a roundabout. It was in a parking lot rather that a street.  But people drive 'round it to get 'round the parking lot, so...

I hope to add more roundabouts and post them here.  Keep your eyes peeled.  But don't hold your breath.

This was taken at Seaside, OR in May of 2018.  Lewis and Clark statue I think.
Taken in Cannon Beach, OR in May of 2018.  Just a walk uphill from our campsite to these wire statues of Lewis, Clark and Sacajawea.
Taken June 18, 2020
Finally!  Sarah and Isaac helped me get this roundabout on 172nd in Happy Valley.  We've been saying for several years that we ought to stop and take this pic.  But usually we don't have a camera of any kind with us or we are in a hurry.  The three of us went shopping and enjoying the sunny spring day-after so many rainy days-and took this along the way.

Taken Sept. 12, 2020 in The Dalles on our 28th anniversary.  The sky is very smoky due to the many wildfires going on in Oregon.  We were staying with the Baker family during this time because Estacada and the surrounding areas were evacuated.  Wildfires were very close and some homes were lost.  Thankfully ours was not and we went back home after 8 days.

Final art projects

Starting in September of 2016 Sarah, Isaac, and I took art classes at MSOA in Happy Valley.  Sarah and Isaac took Fantasy Illustration and I took watercolor.

This is Sarah's project illustrating a scene from Taggerung. Done in colored pencil

Isaac's illustrating a scene from a story he wrote himself called, "The Monster Princess".  Also done in colored pencil

My project, done in watercolor, was from someone else's watercolor as a reference.  This was my first attempt using watercolors, other than messing around on my own.

David's Bear

It was a long wait to get the bear skin back as a rug but we were all impressed and it hangs now in the place of honor above the piano.  Our ceilings are really too low for it to fit well anywhere in our house but this will do.

Over a year ago David shot a bear in our front yard.  This young bear, about 3 years old, had been feasting on our apples for awhile so when we ate the meat it was tender and tasty.

Here is Isaac's 11yr portrait. Finally. He was 11 in November.  We took the picture today, Jan. 19.  Better late than never.
